As you are aware that pancreatic cancer is usually diagnosed at a later stage and hence the rate of survival at this stage will be very less. There are some factors that can be noticed in a person when the disease has just occurred to him. In this case, it is better to be aware of the symptoms so that you can start the treatment as early as possible. The chances of your survival would be better. if somebody in your family has had this problem, then you can start check-ups and start the treatment as soon as possible.

Some of the symptoms that may be noticed in a person are abdomen pain, appetite loss, jaundice, diathermia, etc. There are many types of pancreatic cancer are:

Abdominal pain: Patients commonly face the symptom of abdominal pain. The reason for the acute pain is due to the growth of tumors into the stomach. These tumors are caused due to the multiplication of abnormal cells into the pancreas. When a person has become prone to cancer, normal cells do not develop in the pancreas. The nutrition is supplied to the tumorous tissues and it causes great discomfort to the organs that surround the pancreas. As the process of digestion is not smooth, the organs are greatly stressed.

Loss of appetite: When a person’s sugar level is very high, then it is difficult for him to get it back to normal. Hence the digestive enzymes that are secreted to do function normally. In this way a person may also experience loss of appetitite.

Diabetes: A person may suddenly discover that he has diabetes problem when he just attends a check-up in a clinic. He may also not understand why the level of sugar has so suddenly rose higher. This is all because insulin is not secreted into his pancreas and hence it is not controlling the level of sugar into the body.

Diarrhea: Due to the improper functioning of the digestive tract, he cannot retain any nutrition in his body and hence he suddenly experiences diarrhea. The enzymes that are to be secreted will not be produced adequately and hence it results in improper bowel movements. Steatorrhea is the common symptom developed by a person suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Jaundice: Sometimes a person may develop jaundice i.e. his skin color turns yellow. Jaundice can be the initial symptom to show the onset of cancer. If a person usually within the age group of 60 to 85 is suffering from jaundice must seek immediate treatment because he can easily develop pancreatic cancer if he neglects.
