TESTS FOR CERVICAL CANCER

The main diagnosis and tests that are conducted are:

 

Pap Smear test:

 

This method is similar to biopsy where the doctor extract a part of the affected tissues and examines it under microscope. This test determines to what extent the infection has spread. The doctor can clearly decide about the further treatment. The method of coploscopy can be used to confirm the presence of cancer.

 

Pelvic examination:

 

It is an examination for examining the state of the cervix by inserting hand into the patients cervix. The doctor uses different instruments to insert his hands within and get the feeling of the cervix into his hands. Usually cancers are characterized by the growth of tumors inside and when he inserts hands into it he feels the tumorous growth inside. This method gives the doctor a definite idea about the picture of the cervix.

 

Coloscopy and biopsy:

 

This method gives the entire picture of the cervix region by the means of specialized tools. The combination of coloscopy and biopsy is used to test the presence of cervical cancer. the cone biopsy is a method of removing the tissue is extracted in the cone shaped and then examined under microscope.

 

Apart from the above tests even blood tests are performed to know the statistics of various blood contents into the body. In this way the doctor is able to determines the functioning of the kidneys to know the presence of cancer. if there are any abnormalities noticed then there is a chance for cancer.

 

Imaging tests:

 

Other techniques are CT scan, protoscopy, chest x-ray to test the metastasis effect involved with the person. This test is very reliable and the infection can be determined perfectly through these tests.
